Dear Everyone,

Great news! The Overseas Fabulous Pinay: A modern Filipina’s handbook on how to thrive abroad was honored with a GOLD AWARD by the Nonfiction Book Awards, via the Nonfiction Authors Association!

Here is the official editorial review:

This is a really up-beat book that is helpful and inspiring for anyone considering moving overseas. It has lots of tips, lists and questions to consider both before and after a move. I like the list of Basics about living on your own (in chapter 1) and the 5 Rules for visitors planning to come and stay – especially to avoid the ones who want you to drop everything to accommodate them!

Interesting points about other people’s perceptions of Filipinos’ traits and characteristics and how to deal with them. Good points about observing local rituals socially and in the workplace, and especially being careful not to break any laws.

Although it is aimed at those from the Philippines,  there are some useful points for people from any country who are likely to move abroad to live and work. Easy to read and follow, the only point for me is the number of footnotes at the bottom of some pages, as I would leave them in a separate section. I enjoyed reading it.

– Nonfiction Authors Association Book Awards Program

The Nonfiction book awards program honors books year-round. Books are not judged against competing titles, but are reviewed by judges based on a scoring system that evaluates the quality of the writing and production of the book (editing, design, and other details). A book can receive a bronze, silver or gold award based on the final evaluation score.

As with other reputable awards programs, not all books receive a Nonfiction Book Award. However, books that are well-written and professionally produced often qualify for an award.
